The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors elects the officers annually. Directors serve for one year and must be re-elected each year by the shareholders.
HARRY H. HOSMER – Chairman of the Board
Prior to his founding of the Royale companies, Mr. Hosmer was Vice President of an Oklahoma oil and natural gas exploration and development company. He was a member of the Independent Petroleum Association’s Speaker’s Bureau and its Capital Formation Committee. Mr. Hosmer also served as President of Brookhill Publishing Company, a publisher of leading trade publications, which was subsequently acquired by Harcourt, World, Jovanovich & Brace. He was also an officer of Petra Company, a real estate development company. Mr. Hosmer serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Council, an international organization providing scholarships for the education of young leaders in third world countries, and of New Europe Vision, which provides help to developing Eastern European countries.
JONATHAN GREGORY – Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board
Jonathan Gregory joined the Board of Directors of Royale in June 2014. Prior to being appointed CEO and Vice Chairman, Jonathan was CFO of Americo Energy Resources, a private Houston based oil and gas company. Prior to this position, Mr. Gregory was Executive Vice President at Texas Capital Bank, directing the banks oil and gas lending operations in Houston. Mr. Gregory has spent a total of 25 years in the commercial banking sector, having been with Guaranty Bank and Bank One prior to his position at Texas Capital Bank.
DONALD H. HOSMER – President – Business Development and Director
In October 1985 Mr. Hosmer, along with his father and brothers, founded Royale Petroleum Corporation, the principal shareholder of the Corporation. In October 1986, Royale Energy, Inc. (the Company) was incorporated in order to combine the function of the prior two companies in preparation for the involvement of outside shareholders for the first time. Mr. Hosmer was responsible for the marketing aspects of the Company. In this capacity, the company has funded over $99,246,000 in oil and natural gas acquisitions since 1984. Mr. Hosmer publishes the Royale Energy Report, a quarterly energy publication giving its readers an informative summary of company activities, as well as, the state of the natural gas industry. He has successfully directed the funding of 200 oil and natural gas wells throughout the major geologic basins in the US. Under his leadership Royale became the largest independent natural gas producer in California.
STEPHEN M. HOSMER – President, Chief Financial Officer, and Director
Mr. Hosmer joined Royale Energy, Inc. in 1988, and currently heads up the exploration, drilling, operations and acquisition teams at Royale and with over 27 years of oil and gas experience has helped the company develop oil and natural gas fields in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Utah, California and Alaska. Through his leadership, the company has moved forward to becoming an independent leader in exploration production in the domestic U.S., and has positioned Royale for continued growth and profitability into the next decade. He has been a member of Royale Energy’s Board of Directors since 1996 and also serves on the board for Venture Expeditions and Exile International.
Mr. Hosmer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a MBA degree from the President/Key Executive program at Pepperdine University.
GARY GRINSFELDER – Director
Mr. Grinsfelder is a qualified manager and geologist with 33 year’s experience in oil and gas exploration, exploitation and property evaluation. Currently, Mr. Grinsfelder is former President of Exploration of TXCO Resources, Inc. and is responsible for the company’s exploration and development activities. He was Executive Vice President of Exploration and Business Development for Output Exploration LLC prior to its acquisition by TXCO Resources in April 2007. He has also served in geologic and management roles for Araxas Exploration, Inc., Triad Energy Corporation, Spartan Petroleum Corporation, American Petrofina Company of Texas, Union Oil Company of California and Degolyer and MacNaughton. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from Southern Methodist University and has performed graduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico Department of Marine Science and University of Houston Department of Geology.
RON L. BUCK – Director
Mr. Buck received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Minor in Geology and Economics from Northwestern University. After building his business into a large scale distribution company, he sold the company to his two sons in 1992. Since 1992 he has been in finance and managing family assets including oil and gas wells and oil gathering pipeline investments. In this capacity, he also travels extensively to financial meetings and is a member of the National Association of Financial Advisors.
RONALD VERDIERE – Director
Mr. Verdiere began his career in banking in 1968. He was served as an employee and officer of Mercantile Trust & Savings Bank, Quincy, Illinois, for thirty-three years, ending as Senior Vice President. In 2002, Mr. Verdiere retired from Mercantile Trust & Savings Bank and became President of Hannibal National Bank, Hannibal Missouri, where he served until his retirement in 2012.
