In 1993, Royale drilled its first well in the field, the Victor Ranch 12. This well has produced over 3 billion cubic feet of gas and is still producing. In 1997, the company purchase additional production in the field and in 1999 acquired 3D seismic over its leasehold. From 2000 through 2005, Royale drilled 12 seismic amplitude supported discoveries. In May 2006, Royale tested over 2 million cubic feet of gas per day from the combined Victor Ranch 8-16 and 9-16 wells. These completions proved significant remaining potential exists in the field for drilling structural prospects with only minor seismic amplitude support.
